Oshun and Yemaya are described as the “two waters” relating specifically to the odus “odi-she” (in dilogun divination: 7-5) and “oshe-di” (in dilogun divination: 5-7). These odus state that the person doesn’t have one mother, but two: Oshun and Yemaya, who govern, love, and protect the person in equal and interested manner. Therefore, when you see people describe themselves as being a child of the two waters, they are telling you that they have in their personal odu either 7-5 or 5-7. If you are a person that is concerned with people knowing your personal odus – and many are – then perhaps do not take on the public title of a child of two waters, if indeed you are!
